Medical Interactive Education, LLC was founded by Dr. John Dougherty in 2004 with the purpose of providing medical educational information to the public.  Dr. Dougherty’s goals include: increasing awareness of and early screening for Alzheimer’s disease, as well as other neurological disorders.

In 2008, Medinteract released the COGselftest.com in 2008, after years of clinical research and trials. Dr. Dougherty is a leading neurologist and has been an Alzheimer’s specialist for the last 20 years.  He recently retired as the Medical Director of the Cole Neuroscience Center at the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he saw more than 30,000 patients with cognitive impairment and has been involved in multiple clinical trials across several treatment platforms.

Before his retirement, Dr. Dougherty helped establish the Pat Summitt Alzheimer’s Clinic, a joint venture of the UT Medical Center and the Pat Summitt Foundation, which continues the fight aganist Alzheimer’s disease in memory of the the longtime UT basketball coach.
